As a Senior Data Center Manager, you'll play a critical role in helping us scale and lead our Data Center and hardware infrastructure at a time of incredible growth for our business. The Data Center Operations team is building Data Centers and operating server/networking infrastructure that can sustain millions of concurrent players year-round, and are looking for experienced Data Center experts to join our ever-expanding engineering team.
You are:
- Experienced: You have 5+ years of experience leading people that have built and maintained large-scale Datacenters
- Advanced understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations such as: transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, pumps, air handling units and CRAH units
- Strong working knowledge of server and networking devices
- Experience reading and understanding schematics and building drawings
- Exceptional at attracting, hiring, coaching and retaining experienced operations talent
- Experienced in issue tracking and resolution. Additionally hands-on experience with ticketing systems like Jira, Remedy, etc is a plus
- Operationally minded, process driven and disciplined while always thinking ahead strategically and looking for opportunities to improve
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally, if necessary
You will:
- Be responsible for leading and growing the Data Center Operations team that physically installs and maintains Roblox's Datacenter Infrastructure
- Be responsible for growing and installing Roblox's Datacenter footprint
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs. An example would be developing a strategy for sparing components in our Datacenters
- Formalize training for new employees and contractors
- Drive automation opportunities to reduce installation times and improve break/fix process
- Improve uptime and efficiency metrics be able to present this data to upper management
