The Challenge Ahead:
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will analyze data to improve the player experience for our Sports titles. You are a curious analyst who has a passion for diving into data and building models to understand how players enjoy our games. Your insights will help guide game design to promote improved acquisition, retention, and monetization. You will report to an analytics manager and work in a diverse team of supportive analysts who enjoy learning, sharing, and solving problems with data.
What a Data Analyst does at EA:
- Receive questions from the business, understand the questions, and determine the data needed to answer them.
- Produce strategic insights to help partners make informed decisions.
- Present analyses to partners clear, understandable, and valuable way.
- Identify and articulate insights drawn from data to include both in person and web-based presentation of recommendations.
- Query data necessary to conduct analyses.
- Partner with Business Intelligence and Database Engineers to identify data requirements to support high-quality analysis.
- Document analysis methodologies, conclusions, and business actions taken.
- Consider analysis transparency and reproducibility as best practices.
- Work with other analysts and partners to manage projects and produce valuable insights.
Requirements:
- BA or BS in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, OR equivalent experience
- MS in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field, OR equivalent experience
- 3+ years of work experience in a prior analytical role, demonstrating expertise using data to guide decisions
- Excellent SQL skills, including experience querying complex data sets; experience on a platform such as Redshift is a plus
- Experience in a consumer products-oriented industry; gaming, entertainment, or e-commerce is a plus
- Experience in data mining, machine learning, or statistical modeling
- Experience with data visualization; Tableau or RShiny is a plus
- Experience with a statistical software package; R is a plus
- Experience with a scripting language; Python is a plus
- Knowledge/interest with EA Sports’ franchises (e.g. FIFA, Madden) is a plus
