What We're Looking For:
Our Senior Compensation Lead is responsible for the design, development and administration of the compensation strategies and programs across Skillz. This leader will work in partnership with and provide consultation to our People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition Team and business leaders on all compensation issues. In this role, you will actively look for ways to facilitate the unique needs of each business, making recommendations, interpreting policies and procedures, assessing market competitiveness and developing, socializing and implementing market-based solutions.

This role will be vital in designing an ongoing compensation, rewards and performance management strategy to support a high performing culture that attracts, motivates, retains and rewards Skillz employees.
What You Will Do:
- E volve Skillz's total compensation, incentive, equity programs for all levels of employees to drive business results, enable hiring and retention, and to ensure an exceptional employee experience
- Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
- Lead projects in areas such as job assessment and benchmarking, incentive program design, development and implementation, facilitating the annual performance and compensation process and budgets.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations.
- Educate leaders and employees on Skillz’s compensation and pay for performance philosophies and programs
- Partner with HRBPs and Leadership team members to advise and influence business decisions related to hiring and retention of high performing teams
- Strategize with the Talent Acquisition, HR, and Leadership teams to develop competitive offers rooted in market data and aligned with our compensation philosophy, for new and existing Skillzians
- Work collaboratively to improve processes, workflow, and systems
Your Skillz:
- 10 - 15+ years of experience in a leadership role heading up multiple components of a total compensation strategy, including executive compensation, sales and incentive compensation, and equity compensation
- Experienced in designing job architecture and compensation frameworks and managing end to end performance management and compensation programs.
- Global compensation experience a must
- History of promotion/advancement and increasing responsibility
- Quantitative and data-driven — able to draw insights from data while making strong intuitive decisions when data is imperfect or unattainable
- Hungry and energized to hit ambitious goals
- Proven ability to build process in a rapid-growth environment
- Passion for building innovative rewards and programs that are unique, creative and effective
- CCP, CBP or SPHR certification a plus
