Compensation Manager

Niantic’s People Team seeks a Compensation Manager to contribute to building the next phase of our compensation strategy. Our Total Rewards Team is focused on building the programs, processes, infrastructure, and analytics to ensure global rewards and recognition at Niantic are positioned competitively and aligned with our internal values. As a Total Rewards Team, Talent Acquisition and People Partner teams, and business leaders to support our comp programs, and to ensure our compensation practices are attracting and retaining top talent at Niantic. This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Lead global compensation programs including policies, processes, and communications, ensuring our programs are aligned with Niantic's values and strategy while informed by the market.
- Evaluate existing pay practices while providing recommendations and implementing plans for changes.
- Perform as the lead compensation partner for assigned organizations, working with business leaders on new benchmarks, offers, and internal equity.
- Lead company-wide compensation recommendation processes. This may include semi-annual promotion cycles, merit reviews, bonus payouts, and/or equity refresh grant allocation.
- Prepare incentive modeling for the company’s bonus plan and/or equity program to ensure resources are being allocated effectively.
- Analyze and interpret relevant market data, and develop recommendations for updates to job architecture, salary structures and bonus targets as appropriate.
- Partner with the team on the implementation of Workday and the new compensation modules.
- Design and deliver effective compensation communication tools to educate managers and employees on comp practices and programs.
- Build tools to help streamline processes & increase efficiencies
- Work with the Talent Acquisition team on external and internal offers
- Work with HR Business Partners team on compensation-related topics
Qualifications
- 6+ years' relevant compensation experience, including a strong emphasis on global compensation administration across fixed and variable cash and equity compensation.
- Demonstrated interest towards action in driving continuous improvement through project/program management.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills including statistical analysis and modeling along with experience evaluating and leading online salary management tools.
- You understand the legal environment and help guarantee adherence with all applicable employment laws.
- You are a persuasive and clear communicator, leading change through strong interpersonal skills across all levels and functions of colleagues.
- You have demonstrated experience in navigating diverse priorities in a fast-paced, vibrant environment.
- You are flexible and creative, at ease with ambiguity, organized and detail oriented.
Plus If…
- You have a bachelor's or master’s degree in a related field (HR, Finance, Business), a CCP, and/or GRP designation.
- You have compensation experience with gaming and technology companies, pre-IPO equity, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), sales rewards, and/or executive compensation.
- You have led compensation through global HCM platforms (strong plus for Workday).
- You have experience and/or interest in benefits administration.
- You have late-phase startup experience.
