Senior Community Manager, World of Tanks

Job Overview

Wargaming USA is looking to fill the position of Senior Community for our World of Tanks Americas Publishing team based in Austin, TX. The role oversees community team and reports to Regional Publishing Director, Americas and primarily focused on the World of Tanks PC title. You and your team will be the voice of the product for the players, and voice of the players for the product, gathering data for the development team to constantly improve user experience.

Best candidates for this position will have experience in people management, building teams and communities for new products; nurturing established online communities for mature products.

Reports to:

Regional Publishing Director for World of Tanks NA

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for regional engagement, retention, and reengagement metrics
• Develop and update regional player engagement strategy that aligns with the key company objectives. Execute the strategy within Community team, involving broader Publishing team and World of Tanks product group
• Develop guidelines and training materials in line with engagement and communication strategy
• Regional community team management, providing mentorship, opportunities for growth, training, and professional development
• Represent the game in external communications, building trust within the game community
• Design and constant improvement of processes within the team
• Contribute to long-term success of the product from regional perspective
• Participate in regional product operations strategy creation including product development roadmap
• Organization of online and offline player engagement events, gatherings, trade shows in line with the identified business opportunities
• Develop and implement processes to analyze regional player sentiment, and establish feedback loops with development team
• Collaborate with other regional offices to support game updates, in-game events, tournaments, business partnerships, and other activities

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of people management experience: successfully leading and managing teams encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and individual and team development
• Relevant professional experience developing and actively contributing to online communities
• Ability to think analytically, understand metrics and adjust strategy accordingly
• Persuasive communicator in multiple forms, including writing and presenting to groups of all sizes
• Comfortable using tools for project management, analytics, budgeting, reporting, and publishing
• Hands on expertise in latest social media platforms, including visual, text, audio, video, and streaming content
• Publishing experience: you must be familiar with the Game Publishing industry and its structure and processes
• Passion for gaming: you love video games and understand people who do

Preferred:

• Product expertise. You are an active player of World of Tanks PC, can provide game-related feedback, can participate in nuanced game discussions
• Media skills. You have experience and some skill in marketing, graphic design, audio recording, video editing, script and/or copy writing
• Hardware skills: You have the technical knowledge you possess to troubleshoot and operate a gaming PC, streaming setup, audio, and video recording setups
• E-Sports/competitive gaming casting experience. Or any other sort of live cast hosting experience
• Vendor and outsource teams’ management experience is a plus
• Interest in military, military history, and military vehicles. You will talk about the tanks a lot!
