Lead/Senior Cinematics Artist-Remote/Hybrid working options available

We are looking for a Senior, or Lead Cinematics Artist (depending on experience) to join our team!

You’ll work closely with Animators, Artists and Programmers to develop and share a vision for Cinematics on our UE5 game, IGI : Origins,

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will work with Production and leadership to create and manage budgets for the department.
  • You will act as hiring manager for future hires in Cinematics
  • You will work with Production in the planning and production tasks relating to all aspects of the department, including Jira agile workflows
  • Act as point person for the cinematic department in the studio.
  • You will manage, support, mentor and develop, the team members in your department.
  • Contribute to the studio's internal dialogues on various issues relating to your discipline, as well as broader issues impacting your department.
  • Act as the key driver and agent of change to improve processes, prototype new tools, example levels and workflows in your department
  • Work close with members of your team and contribute to their development / help with mentoring.
  • Understand the high-level vision of the game and be able to translate the vision into workflows that can be used by others to build cinematics and video content for the game.
  • Identify and manage risks within the schedule with Production.
  • Create documentation related to your discipline, for support and training.
  • You will help s et the benchmark to ensure consistency of tone and style is depicted across all cinematic content.
  • You will work on d evelopment of all preproduction materials pertaining to cinematics in a narrative first person game:
    • Storyboarding
    • Blocking scenes
    • Cinematic treatments
    • Support with script writing
    • Creation of stripboards
    • Asset list breakdowns
    • Direction and production of Motion Capture Sessions
    • Planning sessions using preproduction
    • Strong understanding of performance and facial Motion Capture technology
    • Assist in the technical setup and running of sessions
    • Direct and work with actors and crew
    • Direct and setup scenes
    • Assist with the general management of motion capture sessions, including handling of data and producing report sheets
  • Creation of real-time cinematic sequences
    • Work with all other departments in creation and management of needs for cinematics
    • Creation of blockouts
    • Set dressing and lighting passes
    • Animating rough passes for the animation team to polish
    • Creation of camera sequences and editing
    • Implementation of specialist VFX, SFX, and 3D assets to sequences
    • Understanding of wwise technology for use in cinematic sequences
    • Polishing and finalisation of all sequences
    • Implentation of sequences in game to trigger for a variety of player actions
  • Support creation of video content for both internal and external use for the company.
  • Create bespoke motion graphics content to use within the game. These include loading screens, idents and content in game within cinematics.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A positive, outgoing communicator and excellent collaborator
  • Credited on one commercially released game title within a cinematics role
  • Comfortable working cross discipline
  • A good track record of delivering high quality cinematic projects on time
  • Organised and calm, yet creatively passionate
  • Solid understanding of JIRA, Wwise and Unreal Engine.

BENEFICIAL SKILLS

  • Cinematic experience in single player or first person games.
