Senior Cinematic FX Artist

Epic Games is looking for a Senior FX Artist. In this role, you will work closely with the Director and CG Supervisor to design and supervise the creation of VFX on cinematic trailers and other in-engine projects. If you are passionate about games and the production of top-tier CG entertainment then we’d like to talk to you!

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with a team to design and create FX animation, simulations, particle systems, and fluid systems for VFX in animated CG trailers.
• Mentor junior Effects artists
• Collaborate with the lighting team to achieve high-quality FX integration at all stages of production
• Develop tools and techniques that improve the quality and efficiency of the effects team
• Learn a wide array of tools, both internal and external to Unreal Engine 4, to consistently improve your effects output
• Serve as VFX point person in production meetings and reviews
• Partner with production to help scope out new projects and create schedules for the effects team

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of relevant industry experience
• Demonstrates an excellent aesthetic eye
• Extensive VFX production pipeline experience
• Deep understanding Unreal Engine 4 and other FX-related packages in a CG animation production environment
• Passion for developing VFX content in various visual styles
• Passion for mentorship and teaching
• Working knowledge of industry standard FX technology and processes
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
