Senior Character Concept Artist

Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented character concept artist who can inspire us with amazing cool concepts!
This is for an exciting unannounced project from thatgamecompany which is known for award-winning titles such as Journey & Sky : Children of the light.
The concept art team is led by Cecil Kim, Yui Tanabe, and Henry Wong and we need someone who can help us to define character & creature design for our next title.

Must-Haves
- 3+ years experience in character-focused games development
- Shipped at least 1 game title in their career
- Strong understanding of both human and animal anatomy
- Strong drawing skills, with a specialization in character concept design
- Strong foundation in traditional sketching and drawing of human figures and animals
- Understanding the production requirements related to 3D character modeling and animation
- Able to draw from written briefs & verbal pitches
- Excellent time management skills, ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Team player, skilled at working independently
- Knowledge of the animation and/or game development processes
- Solid awareness of facial expression, pose, posture, gesture and movement
- Digital painting and rendering skills using photoshop or equivalent softwares
Nice to Haves
- Passion for video games
- Interests in stylized video game characters
- 3D modeling and sculpting ability (Maya, Blender, Z-brush)
- Experience in traditional clay sculpting techniques
- Knowledge of costuming, cultural settings, and history-related references
- Experience with the 3D printing process
- Strong interest in animation, pop culture, comics, and videogame culture
- Strong interest in wild-life animals
- Bachelor in Art college education
- Strong knowledge of the visual arts (architecture, design, film, comics, games, etc.)
- Organized, efficient, and independent
- Great attitude towards feedback, and a desire to constantly improve
