Senior Character Artist - Art, Metaverse

Our metaverse group helps our partners realise their metaverse ambitions. The team’s expertise encompasses creative (concept and design), production (art and content), engineering (game development and Web3) and operations (dev and live).
At Improbable, you’ll collaborate with some of the best in the industry. Together, you’ll create unique, tailored experiences that stretch the boundaries of what’s possible in digital spaces and virtual worlds – and help define what the metaverse can be.
Your Opportunity:
- Have heavy involvement in the creation of Character Art processes, pipelines, and guidelines.
- Give constructive critique on the quality of the Character Art assets within the game.
- Display a high degree of discipline in following the Character Art processes.
- Create high quality Character Art content within industry standard timelines.
- Own a discrete area of the game and execute on it with a high degree of quality, including:
- Character Heads, Hair, Clothing/worn equipment & Shaders (e.g. skin, hair, clothing types etc.)
- Generate high quality content for user acquisition and engagement, e.g.: marketing assets.
Why You’re Made for This:
- Expert in a Character Art Role with shipped products that show an end-to-end understanding of the process.
- Excellent 3d character modelling skills and techniques (both high-resolution and game-ready) and texturing skills and a strong understanding of shaders and their best uses, as well as an understanding of how to set character assets up in UE4, optimise them and strike a balance between performance and visual quality.
- Excellent understanding of form and anatomy and how they relate to in-game characters, help to define interesting silhouettes and convey character and personality.
- Excellent in identifying issues and proposing solutions that improve Character Art processes or the discipline in general.
- Excellent skills in one or more common Character Art packages: Autodesk Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, Photoshop, Unreal Engine (UE4)
- Able to create tutorials, guides, or other important documentation for more junior staff members.
