POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting into the Commercial Director, the Senior Commercial Manager (Digital) will be tasked with driving growth and development of SEGA America (SOA) digital release across EMEA so that a full coverage of sales, marketing and commercial strategies are created and structured in response to the ever-changing demands of the Video Games market and consumer trends across SEGA’s titles.
The role will be embedded with the SEGA of Europe team, focusing on specific Pillars across PC, PlayStation and Nintendo titles (SOA MS consoles titles handled by SOA with input from this role).
Financial goals and targets as well as medium term objectives will be set by SOA. This role will then work with SOE digital sales team to integrate these goals with the wider pillar objectives and planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver business identified in SOA’s Financial Year Business Plan, demonstrating creativity & drive to deliver new release and catalogue promotion initiatives.
- Align SOA plans with wider SOE plans across each format and title, while looking for cross promotional opportunities and avoiding clashes and cannibalisation.
- Work collaboratively with SOA PD / Brand teams to ensure full understanding of needs and requirements (both SOA’s and market / user requirements) and ensure suitability of product plans.
- Maintain and build 1 st party relations and key 3 rd party digital retail, and manage comms with Digital Commercial team to ensure correct prioritisation and efficiency.
- Involvement in SOA planning process to ensure suitability of commercial offer and pricing. In parallel work with Business Intelligence team to build supporting data to justify within SOA.
- Integrate SOA activity planning into wider full digital activity plan.
- Ensure alignment of PC and console planning and product offer (where suitable).
- Deliver additional visibility to SOA of PC business, market updates and emerging opportunities.
- Ensure information on SOA titles and plans is accurate, up to date and circulated to SOE stakeholders.
- Drive uptake of PC in-game best practice based on the Digital Operations best practice guidelines.
- Work with 3 rd parties to deliver incremental value to SOA (i.e. Humble Bundles, C2C opportunities, new routes to market, etc) as well as working with Business Development team in SOA and SOE on their emerging opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrable track record of launching digital games on PC and Console internationally
- A strong sales or business development background within the games industry.
- Ability to analyse data with BI teams and draw conclusions to drive commercial decision making.
- Experience working with internal and external partners.
- Proven track record of successful product planning for launches and ongoing product lifecycles.
- Experience with ongoing monetisation through games as a service model.
