Senior Business Insight Analyst (M/W/NB) - Ubisoft Mobile

Job Description

The Ubisoft Mobile entity is changing dimension with new initiatives and the launches of new mobile games. As part of the Publishing team, your role is key to deeply understand the value proposal of our games, position them in the competitive landscape and build a comprehensive publishing strategy for its launch worldwide.

Your responsibilities will be to analyze the business performance of our games and lead long term projection of the download’s volumes for the upcoming games of Ubisoft Mobile portfolio.

The forecast will result from business insight on the mobile game industry, a deep analysis of the closest competitors’ practices and robust data driven analysis performed on our internal historical performance.

Based on your deep knowledge on mobile stores practices and competitors, main part of the role will be to consolidate knowledge with experts from multiple background to formalize acquisition and investment scenario that successfully describe a wide spectrum of business potentials.

Your main missions will be:

• Lead competitive benchmark and acquisition forecast effort across Publishing teams:
  • Forecast downloads hypothesis for new launches and catalog titles, considering various in game and marketing investment.
  • Detail results and target per Geo & distribution channels, acquisition pacing, target KPIs (retention, monetization).
  • Capture and estimates all technical specificities that could impact the game publishing on the market
  • Contribute to the deconstruction of competitors go to market strategy to advise on alternative publishing scenario and successful tactics.
  • Anticipate app stores support for new games, size conversion between visibility on store pages and installs, specific regional market conditions.
• Monitor industry trends and practices (apps & publisher, app store and app economy):
  • The mobile gaming industry specificity is the highly fragmentated market for hardware devices: this can be a challenge to define the potential reach of our future game. With this major impact on the forecast, size the addressable market for our games and link with stakeholders to optimize their business potential.
  • Ensure an in-depth understanding of app stores’ ecosystems, mobile market trends, as well as local specific distribution and payment channels.
  • Monitor and analyze market evolution: Apple and Google app stores and mobile strategies, hardware and software innovation, tools and business model.
• Lead business analysis for our portfolio
  • Analyze trends and competitive landscape for our games
  • Collaborate with Business Partnership manager and Studios to identify business risks and find corrective action to enhance performance of our game
  • Link with BI team to create specific dashboards to ease business recommendation
• Coordination between all stakeholders:
  • Ensure coordination between all main stakeholders in the forecast in HQ and in Studios
  • Communicate and adapt communication to all stakeholders for a forecast presentation
  • Align HQ stakeholders and studio teams on scenario building, share best practice and formalize requirements to studio in an actionable way

The successful candidate will combine the ability to influence internal partners, excellent analytical skills with a thorough understanding of mobile business models and distribution platforms.

This is a cross-functional role requiring effective collaboration, communication as well as a proactive approach to gather key data and provide insights on publishing, portfolio, and sales strategies.

Qualifications

• Passionate about technology and video games, you have a thorough understanding of mobile ecosystems and a great interest in their underlying business challenges: revenue model, player behavior, business strategy etc. Your proven expertise will allow you to understand and anticipate successful trends and changes in the market.
• Proven solid experience in business analytical fields with Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited institution. You have a significant experience in a position combining business performance analysis, free-to-play business model and mobile distribution.
• You have demonstrated solid management skills in your previous position, aspire to coordinate complex topics as well as influence key stakeholders . You have demonstrated strong analytical skills, know how to manage your priorities and work on several projects at once. You are dynamic, enthusiastic, rigorous and love teamwork.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Experience with Tableau software would be a plus
