We are looking for a Senior Build & Automation Engineer who values boosting efficiency across teams. If you love developing a broad range of tools focused on eliminating busywork, smoothing workflows, and enabling a team to focus on the truly important aspects of their work, this role may be for you. As Senior Build and Automation Engineer, you will implement and maintain our automated build system, including the design and construction of our build farm. You will design and implement intuitive, easy-to-use tools which eliminate repetitive manual processes, common errors, and other workflow inefficiencies. You will collaborate across the entire team to develop and evangelize automation frameworks that can be used to improve and maintain stability. You communicate diligently with your teammates to keep your finger on the pulse of how they work and find ways to improve their everyday experience. As a part of our engineering team, you will contribute to a culture of collaborative problem-solving, technical excellence, and continuous education and improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain our continuous integration & continuous delivery pipeline, such as build farm, automating testing and deployment, synching tools, playtest builds, etc.
- Design and build tooling to monitor the health of our builds and notify the team when things break.
- Help administrate our perforce server and manage our depot structure.
- Design, build, and maintain tools to automate setup for new employees and new tools.
- Develop tools that help make the engine upgrade process more efficient.
- Collaborating with the team to identify additional automation needs and solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Tools or Build Engineer in the games industry.
- Strong programming skills in C# and Python, ideally with some comfort working in C++.
- Experience with Jenkins or other publicly available continuous integration & continuous delivery toolsets.
- Strong knowledge of Perforce.
Nice to Haves
- Experience working with Unreal Engine.
- Professional C/C++ programming experience.
- Experience configuring deployments on one of the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Interest in IT topics such as build farm and network configuration.
Compensation: We believe that a team that builds together wins together. Because of that, our compensation packages consist of competitive industry standard base salaries and an annual bonus. For this specific role, the base salary range is $170,000 to $220,000, with the final salary offered dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
