Senior Brand and PR Specialist

Rovio’s Comms & PR team exists to promote our company and corporate brand as well as to let the world know what we’re up to and what we are like as a company and corporate citizen. We drive creative initiatives that expose company products and projects to both internal and external audiences. We’re a fun, small team that also runs internal company communications, helps game teams with PR and earned media as well as supports other internal stakeholders with all their communications related needs.

We are looking for a creative but organized individual to join our team as Senior Brand and PR specialist. In this position you are responsible for the voice of Rovio’s brand to our diverse external audiences across multiple platforms. This means supporting, developing and producing our employer branding initiatives, managing our social media accounts as well as supporting our games regarding earned media and PR.
In this position you have the opportunity to work with an interesting and fun corporate brand that owns one of the most famous global entertainment brands. You work with the comms team, which is full of professionals who support each other and always has a lot of fun together. The comms team is located in Finland. We work in a hybrid model, meaning we work flexibly with at least 2-3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Support and develop Rovio’s employer brand program in close co-operation with human resources and the talent acquisition teams.
- Develop, execute and manage the strategy for Rovio’s corporate social media channels, with a focus on growth and engagement (with support and collaboration from the rest of the comms team).
- Collaborate on creating PR plans for games PR needs.
- Collaborate with our PR agency, perform media outreach work, help game teams prepare for launches and other events, arrange media interviews, organize promotional and press kits, initiate PR campaigns and conduct research.
- Produce or oversee production of tactics such as video, editorial, event speaker opportunities, content partnerships and earned media.
Who we think will do great in this role has:
- 2+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing or PR
- Must have a strong understanding of the social media space and/or public relations.
- Must have an understanding of social media metrics and analyzing them.
- Able to leverage qualitative and quantitative data to track and evaluate performance and develop insight-based recommendations for action
- Great written and verbal communication skills in English. (No other language requirements)
- Has eye for good content
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be self-directed and reliable in planning and completion of tasks.
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Curious and enthusiastic about communications
We’d love it if you have some of these:
- Can do -attitude, with experience to show for it (for instance experience volunteering at student union, sports club, scouts or similar)
- A healthy appreciation for memes
- Interest for entertainment and games
Recruitment Process:
- First meeting: You will meet the hiring manager, our Head of communications and PR. The aim is for us to know who you are, what your experience has been and what motivates you. This is also an opportunity for you to learn about Rovio, the wider team and the specifics of the role.
- Second round: You will do an exercise to complete in your own time.
- Final round: You will be invited to meet the team members and the hiring manager again. Our aim is to get a clear overview of your skills, how you would fit with our working culture, your ambitions and where we can help each other develop.
