PTW is seeking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Game Engineer experienced in AWS to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure for our multiplayer games. You will work closely with other engineers, designers, and product managers to ensure our games are robust, scalable, and deliver a seamless experience to players.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for multiplayer games using AWS.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Optimize and scale backend systems to handle millions of concurrent users.
• Implement security and data protection measures to safeguard player information.
• Monitor and troubleshoot server performance and reliability issues.
• Develop and maintain APIs for game features and services.
• Work closely with game designers and product managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Mentor junior backend developers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our backend systems remain cutting-edge.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a focus on multiplayer games.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Solid understanding of networking protocols and multiplayer game architectures.
• Experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable backend systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
