We're building donut.gg, a mobile video platform that lets people create, share, and watch fun game clips. Our vision is to make every gamer a creator and to connect with each other. The company is founded by successful repeat entrepreneurs and raised funding from top VCs Cherry Ventures and Point Nine Capital, plus founders and executives of world-leading game companies.
We are looking for a new team member to join us in Berlin. You have 3+ years experience in backend development in a tech company and a passion for learning. Together with one experienced backend engineer, you will help us build a ground-breaking short-form video platform and editor for gaming content. In doing so, you will have the opportunity to build a product on the intersection of artistic expression and solid engineering. To realize our vision we need to master everything from cloud infrastructure, databases, data structures, and scale challenges 🤘.
What you'll do:
- Push the limits of building a scalable backend infrastructure for a product designed to reach tens of millions of users
- Develop features from design through implementation and launch
- Support and contribute new product ideas to shape what we’re building
- Evaluate technical tradeoffs of every decision
Minimum qualifications:
- BS/BA in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong CS fundamentals
- Good problem solving skills
- Experience with setting up and running cloud infrastructure
- Interest in or experience with Erlang/Elixir and related frameworks is a big plus
