Senior Backend Engineer (Central Technology)

Kabam Vancouver is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Central Technology department.
At Kabam CT, our Backend department is responsible for re-engineering game publishing frameworks that assist in the development of all of our games.
You'll be working with incredible talent at CT, people who are motivated and inspiring.
It is imperative that the ideal candidate has a strong technical background, be highly proficient with backend systems design, and be laser-focused on the details, yet able to look beyond the current state.
*Remote work is eligible for this position.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Participate extensively in the development of our game publishing SDK's backend features
- Collaborate with our data, marketing, and finance departments to understand their needs and provide them with the most effective technical solutions
- Develop backend systems (Web client and Server-side logic) (design, architect, implement, document, test, and support)
- Mentor and support other programmers in their usage of it
- Responsible for ad-hoc projects and/or requirements may arise as requested
In order to be successful for this role, we are looking for:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 7+ years in software engineering with back-end/server-side technologies
- Developed large-scale B2C web applications with experience in backend web development
- Advanced technical experience in Node.js, C++.
- Strong database experience (any RDBMS, preferably MongoDB)
- You have worked on a RESTful API system
- Experience in working in a mixed team environment of engineers and non-engineering professionals
- Good experience working with source control
- Able to effectively communicate and translate between general ideas and technical practices
In addition, It would be nice to have:
- Experience dealing with scalability and performance optimization
- Experience in Unity3D, PostgreSQL, and Redis
- Practical knowledge of the iOS and Android platforms
- Experience in professional game production
- Experience working with Google Cloud / AWS
- An active Github profile
