Senior Backend Engineer, Central Infrastructure

In this role you’ll be one of the first engineers building our next generation microservice-based infrastructure. Our central infrastructure team is small, and initial members will be generalists who can assess the needs of diverse game teams and build foundational tech that will underlie many games and backend services.
You will design and implement services end-to-end. This includes prototyping and benchmarking implementation strategies. Good communication skills are a must in order to effectively assess needs and document how others can best leverage the services you create. Primary development efforts are backend-oriented; Unity development will also be necessary. Given the foundational nature of this work, a substantial premium is placed on maximizing developer productivity (first and foremost!) and robustness. Expect to work closely with co-workers to iterate on newly shipped services and libraries to relentlessly optimize them to better suit our teams' unique real-world needs.
Note: This role is open to remote employment for those who reside in California, Washington , Colorado and Texas.
What You Bring to the Central Infrastructure Engineering team:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience (including 3+ years backend experience)
- A degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
- Experience leading complex projects, preferably involving distributed systems
- Deep experience with AWS, GCP, etc. is a plus (or an advanced private cloud, e.g. Google, Facebook)
- Strong skills in data structures, algorithms, software design, and OOP
- Passion for delighting users, both internal and external, with reliable tools, data and creative and highly technical solutions to their problems

Colorado Residents Only : In Colorado, the minimum salary for this position is $133,000 . Please note that this information is only provided publicly for candidates in Colorado, but the role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well.
