You Are
- Leading cross functional engineering efforts to scale up backend system to handle large number of concurrent users
- Skilled in Search, Discovery, Recommendations, Distributed Systems, and Backend Engineering
- Designing and building consumer facing backend web applications using microservice architecture
- Experienced with SQL and NoSQL database scalability and optimization
- An experienced backend engineer with 4+ years of work experience
- A Computer-Science graduate or MS graduate
- Driven, creative, and a problem solver
You Will:
- Focus on personalized Search and recommendation systems for Avatar Shop (roblox.com/catalogue)
- Improve the discoverability and relevance Avatar Marketplace inventory to match the best content by our creators
- Support our search and discovery infrastructure in production, sharing the on-call rotation with your team colleagues
- Solve relational DB scalability issues with in depth understanding of DB operation, transaction and query optimization
- Help shape and build next-generation search and discovery for the Avatar Marketplace
- Support our search and discovery infrastructure in production, sharing the on-call rotation with your team colleagues
- Write high-quality, performant code
- Refactor and improve our existing codebase
- Improve system reliability, performance, and test coverage
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$218,540 — $283,780 USD
