Position Summary
The Senior Audio Designer will be a talented, motivated, and experienced person ready to help shape and manage audio content and processes in our award winning studio. The day to day will require the creation of professional quality audio assets including sound effects, music, and VO, as well as the implementation and testing of those assets in our game engine. They will be active in team coordination and communication with other studio disciplines, while supporting overall creative guidelines for each project as it applies to audio. Additionally as a senior-level role, the Senior Audio Designer will need to support, mentor, and sometimes direct other audio team members in the methods of our best practices within the Audio Department, as well as help our team grow and adapt to new competitive processes within the world’s game audio community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with designers, artists, and producers to identify audio asset needs
- Work with creative directors to create work that adheres to a project’s audio style and standards
- Create new audio assets using new and pre-existing library materials
- Field record new audio assets and sound effects
- Edit, mix, master, and implement music
- Coordinate work flow and assist with VO-recordings
- Edit and process VO
- Implement content in game engine
- Help to maintain the integrity and organization of the audio project structure
- Work independently to complete assigned projects on-time with limited supervision
- Work with external sound designers as necessary
- Define and manage audio creation process
- Identify and development workflow improvements
- Support and mentor other audio team members
- Help to evaluate and provide feedback for other sound designers’ content against the creative goals of the project
Position Requirements
- 3-5 years of sound design experience with minimum two shipped console titles
- Experience with professional audio editing programs like Nuendo, ProTools, Vegas, Sound Forge, etc.
- Proficient in using game development tools, technology and pipelines (Unreal, Unity, Wwise, FMOD, etc.)
- Strong command of sound design & mixing with a variety of techniques, processes and tools – able to competently produce any kind of audio required for a given task
- Ability to design and create original, professional-quality sound effects for both linear and systemic game use
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Understanding of current console generation and PC audio functionality, capabilities, and limitations
- Ability to collaborate as a team member working towards common goals
- Ability to define process and manage resources against project’s overall audio needs
