Senior Audio Designer - Dragon Age

BioWare creates games focused on rich stories, unforgettable characters and vast worlds. It operates primarily out of Edmonton (Alberta, CAN) and Austin (Texas, USA) creating some of the world's most critically acclaimed titles since 1995. The studio is working on future game experiences for the Mass Effect™ franchise, one of the highest rated video game series of all time, and the Dragon Age™ franchise, whose latest entry was the 2014 Game of the Year. We are also working on announced projects Star Wars™ The Old Republic™, a story-driven massively multiplayer online game, and Anthem™, a co-operative Action-RPG set in a new and mysterious world.
Responsibilities :
- You will:
- Work with audio and creative leadership to implement the audio vision for the title.
- Develop content palettes and treatments to inform direction and feel.
- Provide best-in-class sound design for complex gameplay and cinematic elements.
- Work with outsource partners in assistance to the Creative Audio Supervisor.
- Establish audio best practices while driving mentorship and support of other team members.
- Seek and implement feedback with a focus on audio execution and quality.
- Work with partners in other departments to collaborate with, while advocating for the audio vision and development practices.
- Manage junior staff, and working with external audio vendors and partners.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of gaming industry audio experience, and multiple years in a senior level role.
- Outstanding sound design skills.
- Experience sourcing, creating and implementing quality sound assets in a AAA title.
- Developed ability to interpret feedback and following direction for asset creation.
- Experience with modern audio creation equipment, software, recording techniques, and asset management with a high level of proficiency in at least one DAW (Digital Audio Workspace).
- Experience with audio concepts and industry standards.
- Solid experience using game audio development tools, technology and pipelines and understanding of logic-based implementation systems.
