PUBG Corporation Madison WI office is seeking an experienced and talented weapon/hard surface artist to help create high quality and detailed assets. You will work closely with different disciplines to help define the look and aesthetic feel of assets ranging from weapons, vehicles and other hard surface assets. A deep passion for gameplay that both looks and feels great to play is necessary to help navigate this ever-changing landscape. Responsibilities:
- Author game ready assets ranging from vehicles, weapons, and hard surface player gear.
- Expert knowledge with hard surface modeling as related to AAA game development.
- Work closely with Concept, Design, Animation and other artists to create a compelling product.
- Work with producers and leads to accurately create, track and manage tasks.
- Ability to not only receive and implement feedback but also provide feedback to other artists.
- Communicate well with others to help create new pipelines, tools and processes.
- Create documentation and share knowledge along with mentoring junior artists.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience creating weapons, vehicles or hard surface assets for games.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of industry software, tools and pipelines (3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush, Substance, ect.)
- Strong understanding of both first and third-person asset creation.
- Portfolio demonstrating realistic weapons, vehicles and hard surface assets in engine.
- Must have experience and ability to show efficient and clean models with proper UVs and textures.
- Experience creating PBR textures along with understanding the material creation process.
- Good communicating skills and ability to provide efficient feedback to team member.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of weapon design including silhouette, forms, function and purpose.
- Ability to work under deadlines, manage and prioritize tasks and is self-motivated.
Bonus Skills:
- Prior experience working in Unreal Engine.
- Other skillsets including animating, rigging, concepting ect.
- Experience working with Marvelous Designer or Substance Designer.
- Python experience and automating workflow a huge plus.
- Node based shader creation.
