Role
IllFonic is seeking an experienced Senior Animator to join our team on our next great title for PC and consoles.
This job requires an adept animator with experience animating different types of characters, through both keyframe and motion capture. As a Senior Animator, you will work with the Animation Lead to help define the quality of gameplay animations. Applicants must have good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple tasks in a collaborative development environment.
Responsibilities
- Create animations for gameplay in addition to related animations.
- Own your work, usher animations from initial creation through to final implementation into Unreal Engine 4 (UE4)
- Be very comfortable with both keyframe and motion capture animation to create believable, entertaining animations that are functionally sound and design compliant.
- Team player with the drive and initiative to deliver high-quality work within performance and time restrictions.
- Collaborate across disciplines, to get work done and clear out dependencies.
- Work with your lead to keep them aware of any issues that may impact the animation team’s work.
- Ability to think outside the box to come up with more efficient techniques and solutions.
- Mentor and give advice to more junior level animators when necessary.
- Communicate efficiently, and work well under tight deadlines.
- When needed, produce animation blockouts to quickly visualize concepts for the team to be able to iterate on features.
- Excellent time management and work discipline.
Requirements
- A strong portfolio showing a solid grasp of various forms of animation.
- Experience working with and adjusting mo-cap data.
- Must have a firm understanding of effective asset creation and optimization within UE4
- Extensive knowledge of Maya animation workflow
- Task driven, self-motivated, proactive, and organized.
- 5+ years of professional experience creating PC/console games with a least 2 shipped titles
- Passion for playing and creating games
Bonus Abilities
- Experience with Blender or Motionbuilder
- Scripting knowledge, like Python or MEL
