Senior Analyst, PopCap

We are hiring a Senior Analyst for our PopCap studio in Seattle, one of our most distinguished and unique brands. Data is at the core of our decision making at EA and in this role, you would be a key influencer in shaping the future of our Plants Vs Zombies mobile titles.

As a Sr. Analyst on PopCap, you will be working with producers, product managers, and designers on a day to day basis to inform on the impact of game features and events, as well as to provide predictive insights on possible features for the game. You will be looked to as the source of truth for all quantitative measures, including game health, and thereby must be able to look at data and provide actionable insights at a fast cadence. Analysts are also the voice of the player, tasked with using player behavioral data to build out player journeys bring areas of concern to the producers. At PopCap, you will be working on pre-launch preparation for new games as well as supporting live-service titles already enjoyed by millions; launches are fast times at studios, and you will be right in the thick of it, so expect to hit the ground running!

Your success will be predicated on your ability to holistically understand the state of the game, see areas of exploration that may not be readily apparent, and use your quantitative skills to turn the mess of data into an ordered and impacting list of insights. Accomplishing this requires excellent communication skills and the ability to listen and understand your clients on the design and product side, reframing their asks to address causes, not symptoms, and then translate your findings into a language that the studio universally understands.

Our expectations for skill sets is that you would have a strong background in analyzing and interpreting data for non-quantitative clients in a live, dynamic environment. Experience with a statistical scripting language like R or Python is a must, as is the ability to pull data from a relational database via SQL or HQL. We are open to all backgrounds and fields, however.

Games and gaming are changing. Over the next few years, that change is going to accelerate and without the proper knowledge and toolsets to exploit this, many developers will struggle to keep up with it. Our job on this team is to ensure that our studios are equipped with as much insight and clarity as possible to not only keep pace but become the shapers of that evolution, to help EA lead into the future. We find that exciting and we hope that you do, too.
