Jam City is looking for a Sr. Analyst of Consumer Insights. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Consumer Insights, this individual will support game and marketing research initiatives for a number of our mobile games.
In this role, you will work closely with the research team (CI, UXR, Player Experience) and cross-functional teams on a number of in-house qualitative and quantitative research projects from inception through analysis. Projects include concept testing, brand tracking, segmentation, profiling, positioning, churn research and IP assessment. Additionally, this individual will play a key role supporting and leading activities with our VIP Insider research community with the goal of improving KPIs such as engagement and monetization.
Our ideal candidate loves mobile games and possesses a strong curiosity and passion to understand the “whys” that drive player behavior and decision-making. They will be adept at using traditional research methods, as well as new approaches and original thinking.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Elevate the voice of the consumer across the organization to enable a culture that is anchored in deep and empathic player understanding, particularly for our high value players.
- Support and lead projects for our insight community of VIP players to gain agile and ongoing player feedback in an environment that builds upon past understanding and paints a holistic view of our highly engaged players.
- Create in-depth player profile reports on a quarterly basis. Profiling reports include a variety of elements including segmentation distribution, key motivations, experiences enjoyed most, competitive games played, interests and hobbies, key frustrations, and relevant behavioral data. This work includes quantitative surveys, IDIs, App Cross-Over analysis, analysis of behavioral data and market intelligence analysis.
- Understand the behaviors, attitudes, motivations and frustrations of our players in order to drive retention and long-term engagement.
- Collaborate with the CI Team on high priority quant and qual projects including brand tracking, concept testing and competitive research.
- Take initiative to stay current with industry trends and best practices in the mobile games industry and in the market research industry.
- Help the research team program surveys and QA prior to launch.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Three or more years of experience in market research, ideally on the research vendor side
- Comfortable analyzing data tables and manipulating raw data in Excel and SPSS
- Ability to synthesize data into insightful reports
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate; strong relationship-building is crucial
- Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- A passion to deliver a great player experience
- Experience programming with Qualtrics or other survey tools is a plus
- Experience with SPSS and SQL is a plus
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or other dashboarding tools is a plus
- Passionate about mobile games (particularly mid-core, location-based, narrative and puzzle)
