As Roblox’s Senior Advertising Partnership Counsel, you will be responsible for establishing the foundation and direction for supporting the company’s growing ads team. You will help draft and negotiate contracts, media terms, upfronts, and other related contracting. You will have in-depth experience working with advertising clients and a passion for dealmaking and business-focused counseling. The successful candidate will be highly curious, eager to jump into research projects, partner with the company’s advertising team, and help the business navigate regulated industries and the evolving advertising landscape. We’re looking for candidates who are highly collaborative, work optimally with teammates, internal clients, and cross functional partners, including Ad Sales, Ads Policy, AdTech, Product, Privacy, MarComms, and other groups on the legal team.
Role reports to Senior Director, Global Partnerships & Ads Counsel and based in our San Mateo, CA headquarters from Tuesday-Thursday and remote Monday and Friday.
You will:
- Be responsible for contract drafting, negotiation and advisory responsibilities for Roblox’s ad sales, partnership and business development teams
- Provide legal and strategic business advice to help develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with key partners and the commercial aspects of our key products and programs
- Provide commercial transaction support for other departments as the need arises
- Administration and resolution of legal issues and contract interpretation matters that arise in existing commercial relationships
- Willingness and ability to manage numerous deals, meet tight deadlines, and work extended hours when necessary to complete projects
You have:
- 10+ years of proven experience as a lawyer, including in support of advertising clients. Entertainment / platform experience is a plus.
- Skilled at commercial contracting and negotiating.
- Ability to work autonomously and optimally within tight timeframes in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Strong analytical capabilities and ability to exercise good judgment with available information.
- Ability to take initiative to identify and solve problems in a business-friendly and solutions-oriented manner.
- Ability to think strategically, commercially and practically.
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills with an ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Flexibility to work across various projects and teams.
- A license to practice law in a US jurisdiction
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$283,220 — $315,490 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
