Senior Accountant

Our team at Stoic, a 4-time BAFTA nominated independent video game company is looking for a Senior Accountant. Do you love video games? Are you excited to help manage the financial operations of the company? Your work will enable Stoic to focus on building our next project.
As the Senior Accountant for Stoic, you will report directly to the VP of Finance and own multiple key areas of our financial statement close process.
Responsbilities
- Owner of the month-end close process - build & maintain best-in-class practices with an eye toward automation & efficiency
- Make an impact - this is an opportunity to build scalable accounting processes from the ground up and make your mark on the company
- Own & manage our GL Accounting, Payroll, and Revenue processes to ensure completeness & accuracy
- Prepare the monthly financial statements & reporting packages, including flux analyses for the balance sheet and income statement
- Key business partner for tax return preparation, private valuations, investor reporting, and other ad-hoc projects as they arise
- Collaborate with the VP of Finance in creating and maintaining accounting policies
- Intellectually curious and hungry to learn new things! This position has the opportunity to expand into other domains (such as FP&A) depending on the candidate's interest level
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 4 years professional experience, public accounting a plus
- CPA license is a strong plus
- Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP
- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel (you think in pivot tables, lookups, and sumifs!)
- Proven ability to meet deadlines & handle a diverse workload
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team

United States Pay Range
$90,000 - $110,000 USD
This range is determined by several factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. It is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
The final job level and compensation will be determined by the candidate’s work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business considerations.
