Senior Accountant

As a Senior Accountant, your precise and timely work maintaining accurate financial records will ensure that we keep the lights on, the servers humming and the games launching. You’ll focus on daily accounting activities for the Consumer Products team, which includes the full scope of activities related to the business. Using your hands-on accounting experience and in-depth understanding of accounting principles you will help to ensure that the general ledger is keeping Riot on firm footing. Your new ideas will help the team to develop thoughtful approaches to new issues and improve processes. You’ll collaborate with other teams, including Consumer Product Experience, Entertainment, Strategic Finance, Legal and accounting teams in our global offices. This role on the Entertainment accounting team will report to the Accounting Senior Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Run the full-cycle accounting for consumer products, including the day-to-day operations and finding ways to implement or improve processes
- Collaborate with Entertainment teams to stay on top of upcoming consumer product licensing deals and other business initiatives; identify accounting risks and work with teams to address them
- Investigate fluctuations and monitor trends in the accounts. Work with other teams to gain a deep understanding of the story behind the movements
- Manage projects and ad hoc requests while communicating status and deadlines
- Prepare accurate, timely financial reports for our established month-end reporting schedule
- Problem-solve technical accounting issues related to new/complex transactions by identifying and addressing accounting issues, investigating the facts, and researching the proper accounting treatment
- Set a high bar, pay attention to detail, have a hardworking and intellectually curious mindset, and can effectively problem solve in a dynamic environment
- Engage in training opportunities for yourself and the broader team
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of four years’ experience in public and/or corporate accounting
- Familiarity with ASC 606 licensing guidance and strong knowledge of US GAAP standards
- Experience with consumer products licensing deals
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (can perform complex functions)
Desired Qualifications:
- CPA (or equivalent) license
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
