Senior Accountant

With studios in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and New Orleans, Louisiana, High Voltage Software is a world-class, award-winning game developer with over 26 years’ experience. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team and take over the major reporting and reconciliation duties for our company. We need a professional with inherent leadership qualities and the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas. The successful applicant will have knowledge of accounting in a service business and will have prior experience with tax issues.
Responsibilities
- Reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary
- Prepare semi-monthly payroll through ADP
- Assist CFO with external audits and tax returns
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Assist CFO with any additional operational or administrative tasks as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required (Master’s a plus)
- 5+ years’ experience in general or tax accounting
- Experience with computerized ledger systems (familiarity with Sage 300 a plus)
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented environment
