The Challenge Ahead:
The Controllership team prepares monthly consolidated financial statements and reporting that are used by internal partners, senior management, local compliance parties and our shareholders. You will spend time with business partners, financial planning & analysis (FP&A) teams, Finance shared services, and other teams around the world who are committed to strategies that provide our players with amazing experiences.
You will report to an Accounting Manager based in the UK.
What a Senior Accountant in Controllership does at EA:
- You will participate in many close reporting tasks, such as preparing journal entries and reconciliations
- You will receive broad exposure to US GAAP accounting and local statutory and tax reporting (in the UK and Europe)
- You will collaborate with Finance shared services and FP&A partners around the world to report on financial activity, analyse financial transactions on a deadline, and address technical accounting issues, as they arise
- You will gain experience in local internal and external audits
- You enjoy using financial reporting, analysis, and consolidation tools, such as Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI, and Cadency
- You enjoy researching and documenting technical accounting matters, emerging tax and compliance issues, and also learning about the business of video game development and publishing
- You enjoy project-related work, including process improvement and new systems implementation
- You will educate local business leaders on matters of financial reporting and accounting, and will help influence and support finance executives in making decisions in a collaborative environment
- You will prepare statutory financial statements, transfer pricing adjustments, and tax provisions
The next great Senior Accountant, Controllership needs to have:
- ACA or ACCA, or equivalent financial accounting studies with an interest in financial reporting, accounting or compliance (recently qualified, or near-qualified)
- 2+ years of prior equivalent experience with a multinational company or prior public accounting experience
- Fluency in English required
- Prior equivalent experience using Oracle or an equivalent financial accounting system and other financial reporting tools
- You are comfortable with Excel (complex functions, spreadsheets, and Pivot tables)
