As the Senior Accountant – Fixed Assets you will be responsible for the entire fixed asset process from the beginning to end as well as ensuring related internal controls are operating effectively for both Class III and Class II. The position will be responsible for reconciliations of related Balance Sheet accounts. This role will supervise the Staff Accountants to ensure assets are recorded timely and accurately. You will have direct and frequent interaction with operations and business partners. We put a strong emphasis on individual ownership and value team members who take pride in their work. This role is part of the Global Shared Services team whose vision is to provide superior service experiences to our customers and employees to support scalable business growth.What You'll Do
- Enters all fixed assets into the software system for tracking, as they are placed in service
- Prepares and enters all journal entries to properly reflect fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation in the general ledger
- Reconciles the fixed asset system balances to the general ledger on a monthly basis and investigates all differences
- Responsible for ensuring recurring revenue units are properly reflected in fixed asset records
- Reconciles the recurring revenue units per the fixed asset system to the recurring revenue scorecard on a monthly basis and investigates all differences
- Assists in tracking capital expenditures, and ensuring proper documentation are provided
- Reconciles periodic physical counts of fixed assets to the records and investigates any differences
- Generates reports from fixed asset system as required for financial reporting, tax and audit purposes
- Performs monthly variance analysis of changes to fixed assets, depreciation and related accounts
- Assist with audit requests
- All other duties as assigned
- Ensures robust internal controls over fixed assets are performed and ownership of control and process documentation for the assets
- Embraces technology to help drive efficiency and process improvements across the fixed asset process
- As required, supporting transition of finance systems to global Aristocrat systems, including from Great Plains to Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP
- Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of three years of accounting experience and previous fixed asset experience is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or its equivalent
- Advanced Excel skills, including Vlookups, are required
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and team-building skills
- Must have general knowledge of accounting principles, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft D365 is a plus
- Worked in an ERP and consolidation tool (TM1 is an advantage)
- Have identified change initiatives to deliver process improvements and efficiency
- Audit experience (either as external auditor, internal auditor, or working with auditors) would be an advantage
