You are talented, self-driven, and passionate about making great characters with an experienced team. You enjoy pushing the quality bar and being a key contributor to the growth of your project. Sound like a match? Our Vancouver studio is looking for a Senior 3D Character Artist to join us on our highly successful game, Marvel Contest of Champions.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Model, texture, skin, and pose high-quality character models
- Be an expert in Maya
- Have strong 3D digital sculpting skills within ZBrush
- Be adept at sculpting stylized characters that are both visually striking and anatomically correct
- Have a strong understanding of Texturing techniques within Substance Painter
- Understand how to pose characters in an appealing way
- Master the entire process of creating characters for games, including building effective rigs, weighting, integrating with animation, blending systems, etc.
- Support the team in implementing the overall vision for the game.
- Work collaboratively with artists and game designers to create a diverse collection of high-definition characters, pairing unique gameplay and character vision.
Your background includes:
- Experience in AAA console, PC, and/or mobile game development
- Extensive experience using Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush, Unity, and Substance Painter
- At least 4-5 years of game development experience.
- Character work that demonstrates a range of character styles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in sculpture, anatomy, and character design in a range of styles
