We are currently seeking an experienced full-time 3D Artist, to collaborate with our existing team on assets for an unannounced Sci-Fi game title. The ideal candidate will be skillful in creating a variety of assets and have a strong artistic eye. Furthermore, the artist should be comfortable with a technical pipeline involving different tools along with a proprietary in-house engine. Overall, this candidate must be comfortable creating a wide variety of assets, mentoring junior artists, and working with assets received from multiple outsourcing companies.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Produce high quality assets according to design specs, technical requirements and 3D best practices
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other artists on your team, as well as reviews and critiques for external artists
- Create hard surface assets (terrain vehicles, spaceships, etc.)
- Create organic assets (characters, creatures, etc.)
- Create textures using Substance Painter and Photoshop
- Complete 3D art on schedule with project milestones
- Ensure the technical and artistic follow-up of the assets imported into our proprietary engine and make the necessary modifications
- Collaborate with tools and engine teams to continually improve upon our custom workflows and technology
Education and/or Experience Desired:
- Degree or certification in 3D art, digital art, or related discipline
- 7+ Years experience creating 3D art as displayed in visual portfolio
- 5+ Years professional experience making assets for games
- Well developed leadership, communication, teamwork and collaboration skills
- Proficient with standard industry tools such as: Z-Brush, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Maya
- Strong grasp of color, form, composition and motion
- Experience working in a PBR asset creation pipeline
