Security Officer, Defence

Your Mission
You will play a critical role in allowing Improbable Defence to move ahead with its growth in the national security space. You will own the Security processes, procedures and compliance for our Defence Business in the UK and be a collaborative member of the global Improbable Security Working Group.
Your Impact
- You will develop and implement a security policy and procedures to meet the requirements of ISO 27001 and the Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework.
- You will liaise with the customer Contracting Authority representative or appointed List X Security Advisor and Authority Accreditors.
- You will interpret and implement the security requirements of Security Aspect Letters; providing security advice and direction with regards to the management of sensitive information and assets.
- You will be the liaison with the Contracting Authority representative or appointed List X Security Advisor and Authority Accreditors.
- You will complete the annual List X compliance questionnaireYou will prepare and implement; (i) Project Security Instructions (ii) Risk Management and Accreditation Document Set for ICT security(iii) Project Security Operating Procedures(iv) The List X visitor process
- You will monitor the effectiveness of and compliance with required security controls.
- You will create and lead security awareness training on List X requirements within the company.
- You will create and own a security incident management process.
- You will lead on Maintaining clearances for employees.
- You’ll build an effective project joiners and leavers security processes.
- Where authorised, you will complete self-accreditation requirements.
- You will conduct project security induction and deliver security awareness and education for the Defence Business.
- When needed you will security investigations and produce incident reports.
- You will identify, log and report project security risks to the Improbable Security Working Group
Requirements
- Due to the nature of the work we require a British National, holding (or able to secure) a UK NSV Security Clearance
- Experience either as an existing Security Controller/Security POC in a List X company with significant experience or demonstrable extensive security experience in Defence Security and knowledge of List X requirements
- Ability to understand desired Security effect, and the practical knowledge to design and implement effective, pragmatic security control.
- Experience in implementation of ISO 27001 compliant ISMSExperience with the DCPP Cyber Security Model is a benefit
- Working knowledge of network security is a benefit
- Relevant Security qualification (CISM, CISSP, ISO27001 Implementer etc) is a benefit
- Experience implementing Cyber Essentials Plus is a benefit
