Magic Leap, Inc. is seeking a Safety Operations Technician, Second Shift to support our Occupational Safety and Health Department. This position will offer you the chance to work closely with occupational safety experts and our manufacturing team conducting job safety analysis, machine risk assessments and laboratory inspections. You will be responsible to a nalyze key metrics such as incident trends, near misses, and audit findings. In this role you will be the Safety point person for all second shift requests and needs.
You will need to go into one of our offices daily in Plantation, Florida and work during our second shift, 3:00pm to 11pm Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Work all shifts (with second shift as primary) and weekends as needed
- Assist Safety Operations Specialist with routine site inspections in accordance with all local, state and federal guidelines;
- Assist with documenting and maintaining procedures, creating templates and forms;
- Record any hazards or incidents that occur;
- Perform routine safety equipment inspections on fume hoods, safety showers, etc..;
- Operate hand tools, such as pumps, vacuums or motors
- Operate analytical meters such as thermistors, pH meter, volt meter, anemometer, IR thermometer
- Organize and track safety equipment and supplies
- Assist with Cleanroom safety and chemical handling
- Assist with Disaster Response
- Member of Emergency Response Team
- Member of Hazardous Materials Response Team
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of OSHA and compliance regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment a plus.
- Must have good communication skills both verbally and written.
Education:
- Associates Degree in Safety Science or 2 years experience working with safety regulations.
