SQL Server Developer (Experienced/Senior Level)

Rockstar NYC is looking for a talented SQL Server Developer with strong SQL programming skills to join our team. This role will be responsible for helping maintain the performance capture and production related databases used by our teams worldwide. The successful candidate will adapt well to evolving priorities and deadlines, stay current with technology, and evaluate code/server performance quickly and efficiently.

WHAT WE DO

• We develop and maintain web applications to improve and standardize production workflows.
• We monitor & optimize web application databases for best performance.
• We work closely with other departments to influence UI/UX design to be as intuitive as possible for the end user.
• We help diagnose and troubleshoot unexpected issues that arise in both the web applications we maintain, as well as relevant tools that integrate with our web applications.
• We plan for what’s coming down the pipeline, and review how to improve and advance our web applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop & maintain database applications through, Stored Procedures, T-SQL, tables, triggers, views, etc. using Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and above).
• Query development / tuning / indexing.
• SSRS development.
• SSIS development.
• Generate routine and ad-hoc reports.
• Collaborate with your team, stakeholders and SMEs to rapidly deliver high quality solutions.
• Solve technical problems of broad scope and complexity.
• Maintain and update an ETL processes.
• Provide guidance and support to application developers.
• Monitor and analyze query, database, and system performance.
• Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices.
• Produce and maintain documentation.
• Recognize impediments to team efficiency and to propose and implement solutions.
• Commitment to continual self-improvement and professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of strong SQL development experience.
• Experience using SSMS / SQL Server.
• Experience with BI development tools (SSRS, SSIS).
• Familiarity with data warehouse patterns and practices.
• Passion for database development.
