SMITE - Game Design Intern

Hi-Rez Studios is now accepting qualified Game Design Intern applicants for our Summer Internship Program at our studio in Alpharetta, Georgia on our Titan Forge team!
This will be a paid, seasonal employee. The deadline to submit all application materials is Feb 28, 2020. Internship selections will be made and announced by April 1, 2020, with the Intern work program starting mid-May, 2020, ending mid-August, 2020 (actual dates to be determined).

What our Design Interns do:
- Assists in designing assigned areas of specific games.
- May assist in the design of level layouts.
- Take part in playtests, game balance discussions, and brainstorming sessions.
- Plans out narrative and writes dialogue for in game events or new characters.
- Will coordinate with other departments (art, engineering, marketing, community, QA) to ensure successful completion of assigned segments.
- Applies basic problem solving techniques specific to semi-routine problems.
What we are looking for:
- Experience using game engine software (unreal, unity, game maker).
- Experience writing design docs and presenting their pitches to multi-departmental teams (doc, sheets, slides)
- Must be able to travel effectively to and from studio on a daily basis.
- Must be currently enrolled in (documented as a "Junior" or higher grade level) - or recently graduated of - an accredited college, university, or school of art.
- Currently carrying or graduated with a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher (and provide documentation).
- At least one professional Letter of Reference from a manager, supervisor, professor or instructor; outlining how they know you, and why you should be considered for this position.
- Current resume.

- Portfolio and/or Website displaying applicable work.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Good communication skills, and a team player.
Even better candidates:
- Strong passion for SMITE and significant time played.
- Have already developed a multiplayer game at the student or indie level.
- Experience with other MOBAs and closely follows their updates, balance decisions, and community events.
