Field & Fleet Ops Manager - Esports

As part of its drive to continuously innovate and advance its digital broadcast and production capabilities, as well as super serve players and fans, Riot Games is growing to enable efficient, game-agnostic production of Esports content, globally, through technical innovation, standardized workflows, and shared infrastructure. We are looking for a skilled Esports IT Project Manager to make decisions that impact the Project Stryker Esports ops, warehouse and event support teams
Reporting to the Director of Global Operations, Stryker, you will work together with your peer the EMEA Field & Fleet Ops Manager. This role acts as a team manager by overseeing and advising the live event technician teams.
Your experience supervising and motivating technical staff, demonstrated ability to work to a schedule, and the capacity to manage work streams that are influenced by a diverse set of teams will be essential.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Field & Fleet Ops Team (Greater Seattle/Des Moines area), a group of WOARiors who travel to each event to provide on site support -
- Deployment of network and pc fleet pre-event
- On going support throughout the event of the network and pc fleet
- Tear down of network and fleet after the event and prep of equipment to be shipped to next event
- Close collaboration with EMEA Field & Fleet Ops Manager to ensure alignment
- Working with esports partners you will build and transform operating processes across the org
- Work with esports to build a sustainable schedule of support for events both remote and at home
- Develop and evaluate metrics to measure process improvement outcomes
- Align with leadership to ensure that the processes will support ongoing commercial success
- Ensuring SOP’s are created and up to date
- Oversee Global Logistics for Project Stryker Seattle
- packing, loading, unloading shipments of electronic equipment
- Management of shipping partners
- Carnet creation and management
- Develop training and development plans for the Fleet & Field Ops team members during down periods
- Oversight of Stryker’s global asset management software
- Equipment scheduling and planning tools for upcoming shows
- Updating new assets in the program
- Integration with other platforms (Slack, Excel/Commercial Invoice) for efficiency
You communicate easily in the most appropriate medium, be it email, hallway conversation or messenger pigeon; you will communicate with all Rioters, including leadership, to provide key updates during events in compliance with Riot Games' standards and security policies.
Required Qualifications:
- 6 - 8+ years experience in a similar role
- Experience in building out custom solutions that fit Riot’s unique needs
- Experience managing a small team
- Experience supporting live events both in person and online
- Previous experiencing creating and maintaining accurate documentation and SOP’s that allows traveling teams to succeed
- Expert written and spoken communication.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience hiring and building out small teams from scratch
- Experience with some or all of the following technologies - Google Suite, Windows, Android, Meraki, FOG Server,
- Travel requirements (%): 30%
