About the Team:
Are you passionate about character rigging and excited to bring characters to life in video games? Insomniac Games is looking for a Rigging Intern who is eager to learn and contribute to the development process. If you're interested in pursuing a career in rigging and want to enhance your skills in creating animation rigs and developing new tools and techniques, this is the perfect opportunity!
What You'll Be Doing:
- Create and support simple animation rigs for in-game props, clothing, vehicles, and characters.
- Collaborate with the animation team to troubleshoot and fix rigging bugs.
- Learn and apply new techniques and tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of character animations.
- Assist in developing technical solutions that improve character and asset performance in-game.
What We're Looking For:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree, ideally in Character Rigging or a related field. Computer Science majors with rigging experience are also welcome to apply.
- Projected to graduate by Spring 2026.
- Strong passion for video games and animation.
- Familiarity with Python and experience using Maya is preferred.
- Self-motivated, creative, responsible, and a strong team player.
Eligibility:
- Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
- Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
- Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
- Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
Intern Pay Range
$33.25 — $36.50 USD
