Position Summary
Job Description
- Bilingual Required, must be able to speak fluent English/Spanish
- Will act as a liaison between potential retailers, the Lottery sales and business development teams and the retailer contracting division
- Work with Lottery sales teams and SG Site Team members to identify, prescreen and, in time, make initial contact with potential lottery retailers (decision makers) with the goal of getting the retailer contracted to sell lottery products within their stores
- Focus at least 50 – 60% of their time on new retailer recruitment efforts
- Provide to potential retailers all preliminary lottery contracting documents, including the application and supplemental forms, instructions on how to become a lottery retailer and contact information for the district office assigned to helping the retailer complete the on-boarding process
- Assist lottery sales and retailer contracting team members in the development of new retailer on-boarding and marketing materials to aid in the contracting process
- Assist with advertising and implementation of new retailer incentives, such as start up events and customer appreciation promotions
- Attend new retailer trainings and assist with devising retailer retention strategies
- Conduct surveys and research with retailers that are discontinuing Lottery sales in their stores to determine pitfalls (if any) and identify approaches for better retention of current retailers.
- Work with potential and new lottery retailers to implement the most effective lottery product merchandising and marketing collateral store displays to include: Instant ticket product mix and signage display packages
- Make recommendations on the use of new technology and strategies to solve unique retailer installation challenges
- Coordinate closely with assigned lottery sales reps on follow-up, on-boarding activities at newly contracted retailers in an effort to ensure the most holistic and comprehensive on-boarding of new retailers
- Monitor, measure and report on post-install sales results for new retailers
- Supervise the implementation of new retailer merchandising concepts and pilot programs
- Propose and track KPI’s relate to retailer recruitment efforts at the Florida Lottery
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors degree in related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or another related field
- 2-3 years of experience in Outside Sales, Consumer Packaged Good (CPG) Merchandising and Marketing, Business, or another related field
- Thorough understanding of local retail markets and CPG merchandising
- Existing retail chain and retail association relationships (preferable)
- General knowledge of Lottery business strategies
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- A record of developing strong working relationships with executives, peers, and associates
- Team player – ability to integrate to the team quickly, bringing a positive attitude and committed work ethic
- Well-organized and structured person oriented toward progressing their career
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of different methods of qualitative and quantitative data collection
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to travel as required by the position, which may require operating a motor vehicle and overnight travel. Travel is required up to 50% of the time, up to 40 overnight trips a year, a company car may be provided.
- Ability to work a varied work schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Performs additional duties as assigned and directed
