Our projects include working as a co-developer on Halo Infinite, projects in the Minecraft Universe, supporting the development of Magic: The Gathering Arena, supporting development of Fallout 76, and developing unannounced titles including partner projects and internal IP. SkyBox Labs is looking for a Rendering Software Engineer to develop and optimize highly performant real-time graphics on Halo Infinite , one of the world's biggest AAA titles! As a key member of the rendering team, you will develop bleeding-edge, realistic graphics for an ambitious project shipping on the latest PC and console platforms.
A snapshot of your role:
- Develop and optimize highly performant, scalable real-time graphics features
- Refactor existing rendering systems to improve functionality and increase performance
- Profile and optimize CPU and GPU performance
- Collaborate with artists, technical artists and designers to develop new features and upgrades, while leveraging modern rendering techniques
- Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with both internal team members and our external partners
- Identify issues and suggest improvements to rendering techniques, tools and workflows
- Anticipate and provide updates on technology risks and obstacles to project leads
Sound like you? This is what we're looking for:
- 3+ years of experience working on real-time graphics and rendering systems in AAA games, utilizing modern graphics APIs
- Advanced C++ programming and debugging skills
- Deep understanding of rendering architecture, pipelines and runtime optimization
- Proven knowledge of advanced and modern rendering techniques
- Experience shipping game titles on PC and console
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with DirectX 12, Vulkan, and PIX
- Working knowledge of GPU driven rendering
- Experience debugging a wide variety of issues that can occur on the GPU
- Comprehension of and/or experience with various lighting techniques

Work During COVID-19
In order to keep our employees, candidates and community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of our teams are working from home within Canada, with plans to a return in a hybrid capacity later in 2022. All interviewing, onboarding, and most work will take place remotely for the foreseeable future.
