stillalive studios is an internationally respected team of about 35 talented developers, focused on technically ambitious simulation, management, and strategy games.
Founded in 2010 in Innsbruck, the growing team has created owned IPs like Drone Swarm and Rescue HQ, as well as works on franchises like Bus Simulator. Five years ago, the studio released the Kickstarter-backed action-adventure Son of Nor. stillalive studios is equally embracing gameplay and technological challenges, developing with Unity and Unreal Engine.

The kind of stuff you’ll be doing:
- Work very closely with the Tech Director
- Support the tech director in defining and executing a strategy for the entire department
- Research new tech, tools, and middleware and support the evaluation process
- Organize in-house training sessions for the tech team
- Hold training sessions yourself
- Perform code-reviews across all projects to provide feedback and guidance
- Help assess team performance and device plans on how to improve it
- Document and uphold code guidelines, quality standards, and best practices
- Have a close eye on iteration times and how to improve them
- Work together with our build engineers on the pipeline(s)
- Help shape tech workflows across the board
- Implement new tools/workflows within the tech-team
- Work with two major game engines: Unity and Unreal
- Collaborate with a competent and enthusiastic team of game-devs
- Work from home (remotely) or come to the office (or mix’em up)
Who we’re looking for:
- You constantly drive to improve the way you and the people around you are working
- You have a keen interest in new tech and to explore change
- You like interacting with and guiding a team of highly intelligent people (people skills)
- You have successfully led a team of at least 5 other team members
- You have at least 4 years of professional programming experience yourself
- You like programming, but you like enabling and supporting others programming even more
- You know how game-engines work internally and what approaches they use
- You have solid basic knowledge with Unreal and Unity
- You have a solid working knowledge of C++ and C#
- You have a good foundation in design patterns, anti-patterns and clean code
- You can work self-directed and reliably
- You understand what makes a good leader
- You like working in a team, solving problems together
- You have excellent communication skills in English both verbally and in writing
Nice to have:
- Your professional work-experience is games industry related
- You participated in more than two complete game development cycles
- You have low-level knowledge and are aware of data locality and DOD (data oriented design)
- Solid math knowledge (linear algebra, geometry)
- You worked with versioning systems like Perforce / GIT
- You speak German
