This position owns the release process, risk management, and readiness of a given release where you will be part of a cross functional team working closely with developers, QA, and production.

What you’ll do
Epic Games is looking for a quality-focused Release Manager to work closely with our producers, programmers, build engineers, and QA teams to oversee the build and release process for Unreal Engine. In this position, you will work directly with the brightest technical minds in the business as we build the premier game engine for a multitude of platforms.
In this role, you will
- Actively ensure multi-team collaboration for a product release which includes development delivery, QA testing, Marketing, Documentation, Localization
- Coordinate and support teams with prioritization of critical issues for releases
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
- Establish a release process that fits the team’s needs as well as aligns and leverages existing releases processes from other teams like Twinmotion, MetaHuman, Fortnite
- Maintain formal release records to track release content and history
- Regularly communicate build status to product teams, articulating build and release issues in detail
- Ensure releases have passed all required checks and approvals leading up to production deployment and effectively communicate approved exceptions
- Coordinate all aspects of production deployment including deployment testing as well as internal and external announcements
- Carry out responsibilities for planned releases and hotfixes
- Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years in a project management, production, release management or similar role
- 3+ years experience using JIRA or similar tracking tool
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organization
- Demonstrated ability in right-sized process development and improvement
- Experience with build and release process is preferred
- Technical orientation and strong understanding of software development
