What will you be doing?
You’ll be responsible for leading the Release & Deployment team, that is mainly responsible for deploying new stores from technical perspectives. Plan and execute system updates to existing stores. Provides technical solutions of our systems in terms of Windows, Networking or Hardware to existing stores and the new store build out. Work smart and creative in a problem-solving environment. You will be taking care the following functional scopes:
System Deployment & Release: Define processes and standards to make sure the deployments and releases are efficient, effective and scalable. Source for tools or systems when needed to drive the positive outcomes. Continuously prioritize, plan, schedule and control deployment work for existing and new stores.
Team Management: Ensure the team’s technical skills are up to standard for deploying new stores, updating existing stores and supporting level 3 technical issues escalated from the support team. Gauge vendors' performance from time to time.
Vendor Management: Keep deployment documentations up-to-date to ensure our vendors deploy new stores adherence to our latest technology standards and scope.
System Improvements: Provide suggestions to improve the system for our existing stores or new store build out.
Who are we looking for?
- We're looking for someone who has 7+ experience in team management and technology deployments. Demonstrate a strong problem solving ability.
- We’re also looking for an open-minded and self-motivated person who can lead a team with creative solutions and innovative ideas to make a great product.
- You should be knowledgeable in network infrastructure, Windows, workstation computers.
- You should be an open-minded person and team player with strong communication, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, a positive attitude and be bilingual in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
- We’re making the holodeck real at Sandbox VR. We expect this to be a very competitive market, which means we have to innovate as a team. You should be open to researching and solving completely new technology challenges nobody has solved before.
How can you really impress us?
- If you’ve been a team lead, we’d love to hear about your leadership philosophy and experience. We’re still early and it’s important that we acquire a strong engineering culture from our senior engineers as we grow our team.
- If you’ve been a deployment team lead, we are also excited to hear your experience. Welcome to contribute your experience to our release & deployment team to build a better experience for our customers.
- If you’ve worked in diverse markets and industries, and have worked in polyglot language environments where there isn’t just one programming language used across multiple services, we’d love to hear about that too. We’re going to have to work with a lot of services from third parties in order to quickly evolve our platform.
- As a start-up company. We are open-minded to solve the problem any ways. We will surprised if you are also experienced in the different technology areas.
- Outside of your job, it would be a huge plus if you’ve done engineering work with cutting edge technologies as a hobby, such as VR/AR/MR, robotics / drones, motion capture, or machine learning. We have plans to work with all of these technologies as we grow our holodeck platform.
