Real Estate and Lease Coordinator

The opportunity
Unity’s Real Estate and Lease Administration team is responsible for sourcing, developing, and managing Unity’s 1M (and counting!) Square Feet globally. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join us as our Real Estate and Lease Coordinator.
In this role you will manage and administer our real estate leases, reporting of portfolio key data and critical dates, maintaining our lease database, processing of rental payments and developing relationships with local property managers and landlords. We work with many internal cross-functional business partners including Workplace Experience, Design & Construction, Legal, Tax, Risk Management, Accounting and Finance. In addition, you will build positive relationships with external partners around the world to align on real estate transactions and lease management.
What you’ll be doing
- Review of lease related documentation and supervision of abstraction of critical information including rents, dates, and financial obligations; QC abstractions once complete
- Own and maintain lease database working with third-party partners and providers,
- Assist in resolution of day-to-day issues and questions from landlord, AP, finance, insurance and other internal/external partners
- Ensure lease related correspondence and forms, including estoppel, SNDA, commencement memos are generated, completed, and filed appropriately
- Own the Tenant Improvement Allowance recovery process partnering with our Design & Construction team tracking critical dates, amounts, and documentation.
What we’re looking for
- Knowledge of global lease accounting standard methodologies, including ASC 842 accounting rules and accounting implications of lease obligations.
- Ability to review, interpret, and analyze Commercial Office Leases, Subleases, Serviced Office Agreements, annual CAM, Tax and Insurance reconciliations
- Excellent judgment, verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple groups and functions.
- Experience with international leases, norms, and currencies.
- Occasional travel required
You Might Also Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of study (such as Real Estate, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Law); or equivalent experience plus evidence of outstanding ability.
- Ability to define new requirements, evaluate impact, and prioritize.
- Strong financial/analytical skills
