As a Senior Quality Designer, time will be focused on ensuring that project deliverables are being completed on time through test planning and active participation in the test responsibilities while maintaining EA's high standard of quality. Additionally, you will focus on improving the operational efficiency of QA efforts by assessing current quality assurance practices and incorporating new QA strategies. You will work on department level projects and operational efficiency projects.
Responsibilities:
- You will work with Senior Engineers, creating test plans
- You will need an eye for test cases that would be good candidates for automation, and ability to write test steps in Gherkins or other automation frameworks
- You will need to understand and construct SQL statements
- Coordinate multiple work streams in task execution and task management
- Comfortable working with internal and external teams
- Comfortable working with different domain experts across different time zones
- Prioritize the player first, ensuring that feedback is delivered with the community in mind while still accounting for development constraints such as timelines and budgets
- Create test scenarios and scripts supporting requirements for both manual and automation testing
- Implement test cases, test plans and suites, defect tracking and regression tests
- Be a process advocate. Both for efficiencies on your team, and for behaviors that bring defects into the product upstream
- Be data minded individual to ingest Indicators and make informed decisions. Propose solutions to resolve trends that have negative impacts on product quality
- Create reports to multiple teams to communicate what quality is using data
- Identify and escalate risk that impacts project goals proposing potential solutions
- Work with Engineers to perform Root cause analysis on crash logs and crash trends using tools such as Backtrace, Crashlytics, or Big Query
- Mentor and cultivate junior members within their project team
Qualifications:
- Intermediate knowledge of programming language preferred (Python, C#, C++, SQL, JSON, Unreal).
- 5 years of experience in a software development environment.
- 2+ years experience working directly with game engines preferred (Unity, Unreal Engine, Etc).
- You are comfortable working with Engineering teams and can think like an Engineer when communicating what good is for internal tool development.
- Experience shipping mobile software as QA professional.
- In depth knowledge of game production lifecycle and live services
- Experience applying data to tell a story
- Advocate for best in class quality principles.
- Bachelor's degree in related field: (Computer Science, Game Development, Business).
- Proficient with test case management software (Test Rail, TM4J, Zephyr, etc).
- Proficient with Jira, Grafana, Power BI, Data Dog
- Experience and hands-on with test automation
