Quality Designer I

We are looking for a Quality Designer II to join an established team of Quality Assurance professionals supporting UFC 2 Mobile. This is an opportunity to help guide quality on UFC 2 Mobile and across our mobile organization.

Similar to how a Product Manager is the bridge between analytics and design or the Community Manager is the bridge between the community and design, this Quality Designer role is a bridge between quality and design with a focus on systems and content.

The Quality Designer II will report to the QA Development Director.

Responsibilities:

• You will ensure primary systems function as expected.
• You will understand how the core game systems work and focus on building confidence in those systems through usage.
• This includes managing validation and ensuring that any time we run into an issue building content it is tracked and validation is added for the future.
• This also includes working with the design team on future content. Digging into the feasibility of targeted content designs and ensuring our systems support it or writing up additions needed to do them.
• You will validate content from the user level.
• This would not be content testing but rather focusing on playing available content in the same way a user plays it, similar to what producers do and the priority source of development bugs. This would also include overseeing playtests and involves an understanding of complex content systems.
• You will be embedded with the design team and be involved in all steps related to any releases and content going out to users.
• You will be a coach for QA teams and help them resolve complex problems and grow their knowledge.
• You will build working relationships with senior members of the development, production, and design teams by creating a higher quality player experience through tasks such as feature planning, analyzing internal data/player data, and feature/design reviews.
• You will propose and provide solutions to problems from senior leadership.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of applicable work experience.
• In-depth knowledge of software/game development and game design.
• Compiled data points spanning multiple sources into a cohesive, consumable, and applicable summary to senior team members.
• Defect and Task tracking tool experience (JIRA, TestRail).
• Led medium to large-scale on-site teams and external partners.
• Background in games production or design.
