Quality Assurance Tester

Turtle Rock Studios is an award-winning independent game developer best known for its work on AAA franchises like Left 4 Dead, Evolve, and Counter-Strike . We are seeking a Quality Assurance tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and strong critical thinking/problem solving skills. The employee will test the game for bugs, verify bug fixes, and help the team tune the game for balance, difficulty and fun.

Responsibilities

• Test game for defects and document detailed bug reports
• Regress bug reports to verify fixes and close issues
• Work directly with a development team on specific areas of game
• Report status and updates of assigned project to peers
• Ability to analyze gameplay and mechanics to provide constructive feedback
• Help the development team reproduce and pinpoint issues
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Track bugs through the database workflow

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of game platforms and genres
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to balance multiple tasks to meet deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferences

• 2+ years of QA experience
• Experience with testing during Alpha, Beta, and Post Launch
• Prior experience testing multiplayer action titles
• Prior experience testing on VR Platforms
• Previous experience working in Quality Assurance at a developer
• Worked as an embedded tester within a development team on specific features and focused tasks
• Familiarity with JIRA or other bug tracking software
• Knowledge of Oculus, Microsoft and/or Sony technical requirements
