Job Description
When you're a Quality Assurance Manager within Ubi MTL's Technology Group, you're responsible for leading and supervising quality control/quality assurance (QC/QA).
In this position, you oversee quality control during the development cycle as well as quality assurance of the operations processes of online games. As a Quality Assurance Manager, you make sure that the targeted quality standards are respected and aligned with the goals of the production teams.
What you'll do
The main and usual functions of this job are to:
- Manage the daily activities and optimize the work processes of the QC/QA team.
- Communicate goals, strategies, and global information coming from other business lines and project management to all team members.
- Implement proven testing techniques and methods to ensure a high level of quality with maximum efficiency.
- Work with the development and operations teams to plan the QC/QA phase and deliver high-quality games.
- Use various management tools, including the database, to analyze project progress.
- Assess the need for different testing strategies to be adopted according to the needs of the production and operations group.
- Define and implement the different test flows in a multi-environment context.
- Participate in the resolution of strategic problems encountered by the QC/QA team.
- Work on the improvement of existing test processes to prevent problems in live environments.
- Collaborate in the development of the QC/QA strategy, in the synergy between the different stakeholders in the QC and QA groups, and in the exchange of best practices with other QC/QA teams within the company.
Human resources management
- Ensure the mobilization of your team by regularly assessing morale, finding the causes of problems and implementing appropriate solutions, etc.
- Coach team members in their work to promote their development in their position or career.
- Conduct and/or validate performance evaluations and set team objectives.
- Identify and manage non-performance and/or interpersonal conflicts.
- Participate in the identification of development activities (training, COOP, etc.) for team members.
- Approve timesheets and manage absences and vacations of team members.
- Carry out all other related tasks.
Qualifications
What you bring
- College diploma in IT or any other relevant training
- Quality assurance training (an asset)
- 4-5 years experience in quality assurance in the IT industry
- 2-3 years of experience in team management
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Communication skills (French and English)
- Organizational skills;
- Ability to manage many priorities at the same time
- Results-oriented mindset
- Ability to work well under pressure

- A structured, creative, and innovative mind
- A customer service vision
- Good knowledge of development processes (design, pre-production, production)
