Quality Assurance Lead - Online Publishing

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for handling day to day checks in a fast moving environment for issues and defects in GaaS titles and report them clearly to the Production team as well as supervising a team of people doing the same. They will also be monitoring game content for potential ratings violations for multiple titles, and setting up titles on multiple platforms/web channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the QA Project Manager in test development, estimation, planning, execution, reporting, and closure.
• Be available to switch between various titles throughout development.
• Immediate response to claimed fixed issues before patches/updates go live.
• Communicate and collaborate with all areas of the business including Production, Marketing, Community Management, Customer Support, Engineering, Web Development, and Game Development.
• Familiar with the titles inside and out. Have an at-will understanding of the bug database or have the means to produce timely information, data, or analysis.
• Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality
• May oversee the test activities of an outsource QA team that supports assigned game titles.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position may be required to manage an external QA team for overflow testing as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• 4 years of experience in a video game testing position is preferred
• 2 years of experience in a video game QA Lead position is preferred
• GaaS testing experience
• Test plan creation experience
• Online PC testing experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity using various Bug Databases including Jira
• Familiarity with MS Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school graduate. A. or some college course work strongly preferred.
• Minimum one year QA testing experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of QA processes.
• One completed project in the role of Lead Tester or equivalent. Experience managing multiple platforms is preferred.
