Job Description – Quality Assurance Analyst – MLB The Show
The “MLB-The Show” development team needs a Quality Assurance Analyst to help with the development and testing of our software and server based product. We’re looking for a proactive, self-driven candidate who is also a team player. Strong interpersonal, facilitation, strong oral and written communication, and project management skills a must.
Responsibilities:
- Primary ownership, administration and communication of all QA related project data and associated risks for the MLB The Show development project.
- Collaborate work across disciplines within the development team to help drive our project to completion.
- Ensuring process and Quality Assurance related issues are communicated and addressed by engineers, programmers and other team members.
- Interact on a day-to-day basis on production tasks with our internal team in all aspects of development - animation, art, design, outsourcing, tech, etc.
- Provide regular status updates to department manager, production supervisors, and members of the production group as requested
- Assisting and participating with scrum/schedule management.
- Contribute ideas and collation of ideas for new concepts, features and designs.
- Assist with milestone and schedule management, including review meetings.
- Help with new initiatives and programs related to online and live content.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Experience working with programmers, artists and designers.
- Experience with MS Office, Email, presentations, bug tracking software (JIRA), agile/scrum management software (JIRA, Miro, or RealTime Boards).
- Awareness of specific development tools including PerForce and Tsunami.
- Expertise in remote team management.
- Experience in advanced level testing techniques.
- BS Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Communications, BA in Project Management, Business Intelligence, or QA related field preferred.
- Familiarity with various gaming consoles/platforms: PlayStation/Xbox/Mobile
This person should be curious and driven to learn more. The most successful candidates that we have had are self-starters who really dig into tasks and find a way to contribute to the group and the studio. As the Quality Assurance group is focused on projects and dealing with many different contingencies, the candidate must be able to jump into the fray and find a way to contribute.
